Tea Time with Free-Form Hopscotch Pink

Salem China Company's Free-Form Hopscotch Pink teapot, sugar and creamer. Designed by Viktor Schreckengost and introduced in 1955.

Not to take anything away from his myriad of brilliant industrial designs, but Viktor Schreckengost really rocked it out when he created Free-Form!

I have been looking for the sugar and teapot

Submitted by katrina on Mon, 03/17/2008 - 9:27pm.

Looking to collect hopsccotch for the last year. It's just adorable, I have only the creamer. I really need to learn more about this Viktor guy. OMG that teapot is really awsome.  I saw one on ebay a couple years ago and still kick myself for not buying it.

This was my Mom's wedding china pattern in 1956

Submitted by shastacola on Tue, 03/18/2008 - 8:09pm.

She had the whole set(in blue),including the free form pieces ,and over the years, broke, lost,or sold what was left in a garage sale. Last summer I found a box of plates(dinner and salad) and cups and saucers of the blue Hopscotch in a box, under a table,at a church sale and bought them. I keep my eye out for the blue free form pieces and plan on rebuilding her collection.I'll keep them for myself, she did love them for all the years she used them, but isn't interested in "restocking" them. She can see them at my house.Sue
