MarshallStudios.net now online

  • Marshall Studios
I am pleased to announce that my website MarshallStudios.net is now online MarshallStudios.net The website is dedicated to the mid-century modern design work of Jane and Gordon Martz and the Marshall family of Veedersburg, Indiana. Beginning in 1922, Marshall Studios produced handmade decorated parchment lampshades. In 1951, Jane and Gordon joined Marshall Studios after graduating from Alfred University, and added modern stoneware lamps and accessories to the production. In the 1950's, modern handmade wood lamps and tile tables were added to the catalog. Today, Marshall Studios ware is becoming increasingly popular with mid-century modern collectors and taking its place in the history of 20th century modern design. MarshallStudios.net features many catalogs and cut sheets in pdf format, a museum of vintage and contemporary photographs, and an historical timeline of the development of Marshall Studios. In the coming months, I will be adding many more vintage and new photographs, a section on signatures and identification of Marshall Studios ware, much more ephemera, and articles relevant to the history of Marshall Studios and collecting Marshall Studios today. Additionally, the resources section will feature pages on other midcentury dinnerware including Tamac and Winart Potteries of Oklahoma. Technical note the website was designed in Apple's Iweb and may have conflicts with Internet Explorer versions 6 and earlier. The site has been tested and works fine with Internet Explorer 7 (free download from Microsoft), Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator and Apple Safari. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments about the site or the work of Jane and Gordon Martz at Marshall Studios. Regards, Craig McCormick
