Pigeon Forge

An assortment of Pigeon Forge adaptions of Zeisel designs for Riverside China. Pigeon Forge produced a wide variety of largely decorative ceramic items from the late 1940s through the 1990s. Apparently certain workers at Riverside went on to work at Pigeon Forge. This fact came to light when an exhibition on Eva's work opened at the Knoxville Museum of Art in 2004.

Have you had a chance to ask them about the influence of Eva's work on some of their designs?
You know, I am beginning to wonder if Loma of Arizona bought the molds of Riverside when they closed.

I haven't spoken with anyone from Pigeon Forge but I believe others who are researching Riverside for the upcoming book on Eva Zeisel's work have interviewed them. I look forward to when we can all read about the whole story! I'm not sure when this book (a project of the Eva Zeisel Forum headed by Pat Moore) will be coming out.
I never thought about it but Loma buying the molds would make sense as well--I wonder if we will ever know...
