Laurel Potteries

Something said, stop at the thrift store! I haven't done it in a while. I almost never find anything in this thrift. So I go infrequently. Ok, so these shakers have some tiny knicks here and there. Nothing that ruins the find for me. I've never seen California Life shakers in the wild. A cheap thrill for a buck and a half apiece.

Great Find!
Great find Mike! I really like the shape of these.
Slots vs. Holes
Exciting, Mike! Way to listen to your inner voice!
I think the slots are an interesting alternative to the ubiquitous holes seen in most other S&P shakers. How well do they function?

Functionality
They need a thorough cleaning inside before I attempt a test of functionality. They look like they would work easily for pepper, but I have my doubts about salt. We shall see.

Those are great, I would
Those are great, I would have got them for that price =) I haven't seen any Laurel "in the wild" yet, but I'm hoping that some day I'll come across some at the thrift.

Great Laurel Find!
Excellent thrift store find Mike! I'm thinking these California Life shakers are hard-to-find if not rare. Ted Scarpino designed many inspired shapes for Laurel Potteries and these shakers are fantastic.
