hyalyn porcelain, inc. 684. White with Gray-Green. Portfolio Collection. 1957. Herbert Cohen. Other colors in the Portfolio line included: White with Textured Brown, Tangerine with Brown, White with Blue, Yellow with Mottled Black, and Green with Mottled Black. All colors were matte.

Herb Cohen is a self-employed potter and sculptor. His work has been exhibited at Studios 2, Inc. in Blowing Rock, North Carolina and at Piedmont Craftsmen, Inc. and Southern Highland Craft Guild. He is founder emeritus and a current board of trustees member of the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum.

Cohen has a BFA and MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Alfred, NY and has served as an instructor at Alfred University, a designer for Hyalyn Porcelain Company, Hickory, NC and an Exhibits Director and Acting Director at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte.
