I could see perhaps one

Submitted by mpratt on Sat, 07/14/2007 - 7:08pm.

I could see perhaps one comparison being a fluke, but yowsa! The similarities are striking across several shapes. A very important series of insightful observations.

Loma of Arizona is one of those companies I personally know only very little about, despite having done some serious investigation. Have you come across any information?

I haven't found much

Submitted by youngmoderns on Fri, 07/27/2007 - 3:51pm.

I haven't found much information about Loma. It seems that Loma made quite a bit of ware--certainly much more than the original Riverside production. It turns up on eBay quite frequently. Loma also made a large number of the original Riverside shapes, usually with some modifications like adding handles. They made many more shapes than did Pigeon Forge which also replicated some of Eva's Riverside shapes. It is my belief that Loma was probably regionally distributed in the Southwest and was sold at gift shops and other locations catering to tourists. I have a Loma vase with a gold sticker that is only partially readable but says "...of the Painted Desert" and one piece recently sold on eBay that had had penciled "Phoenix Aug. 1959" on the bottom (item number 190127055605.)
