Contemporary Household Furnishings. Russel Wright Furniture, Table Lamp, Ash Tray, and Pewter. Vintage News. 1932.

CROSS-SECTION OF THE DECORATIVE ARTS Exhibit of Household Furnishings Fresh From the Studios of the Designers Shows the Trend of the Contemporary Manner

Russel Wright is said to have combined function with comfort and mass production in a sun porch ensemble. The chromium frame of a low arm chair was simplified to its essential forms, with the back and seat made of a single piece of heavy fabric produced from jute and wool. Other items included an aluminum ash tray stand that empties ashes by the turn of the hand, a wood and stainless steel table lamp with parchment shade, and a beverage tray and tumblers in 'pewter'. No photos of these particular items were shown. Donald Deskey's furniture is also mentioned in this article.
