Casual Craft Ashtray by Erwin Kalla

An inexpensive find on eBay. I love the feel of this ashtray. Very substantial in the hands. Anyone have ideas on a multifunction use for ashtrays? How about an asian side dish and the chop sticks are placed in the notches?

Another great find Mike.  I haven't seen this before.  It looks perfectly proportioned.  I also have not seen this royal blue glaze before and like it a lot.  I have several ashtrays and use them as trays and holders for various things-- one I use to hold cotton balls and mini hotel soaps and shampoos in the guest bathroom.  Another is on my dresser and is a convenient place to keep my keys, watch and wallet.  A third is on my bedside table and is where the cell phone goes when it needs charging.  You get the idea.  I guess you could use it as a "holder" for asian food as well!

Beautiful Glaze...

Hi Mike,

That's a stunning glaze... the form however is not good for chopsticks.   How about a pencil holder?   Most of us store our pens and pencils in various vessels, vertically.   You could change all that with a horizontal holder.
