Albert Pottery

Can anyone tell me anything about an American studio art potter

who worked in the midcentury and signed his work  Albert?   I am

submitting an image of a decorated chop plate I recently bought;

like all his work I have seen the plate is made of dark red clay.

Thanks and best regards, Phillip Northman (Atlanta)

Hi Phillip,

I like your piece. I have some Albert items too at http://modish.net/albert. Someone sent me a link a while back about this potter. Let me see what I can find when I have a moment.

I had a chance to review the information about a Pueblo Potter that signed his name similarly. I'm not convinced they are the same person. So I am still looking for information about Albert.

Hi Phillip, I've had some Albert pieces myself.  At one time I thought I had researched him back to either New York or New Jersey.  Not sure, but might be Albert Green, an art potter who recently died, was in his late 70's.  That's a nice piece you have.  Best regards, Ed Furr
